OKBET CAF Football – Senegal and Madagascar arrive at the beach city of Vilankulo to get a Victory
Senegal and Madagascar national teams have landed in Vilankulo, Inhambane province, Mozambique, to compete in the finals of the Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations, which will be held in the country from October 21 to 28.
Not only Senegal and Madagascar will compete instead these countries join Mozambique and Morocco, who are already present in the country, increasing the total number of teams in Vilankulo to four. Malawi, Egypt, and Uganda will join the host city of the 5th edition of the beach continental competition tomorrow, Tuesday.
After missing the most recent AFCON, which was held in Senegal, the 2015 African champions are returning with the goal of demonstrating their potential and restoring the status they have always enjoyed on the continent.
To qualify, Madagascar defeated Seychelles (5-2/6-2) with an aggregate score of 11-4.
The team’s stars include goalkeeper Jhoraly, defender Dada, and midfielder Yemelda.
Senegal nearly made the global podium in Russia thanks to their impressive performance, but they were defeated by Switzerland (9-7) in the third-place game and Japan (5-2) in the semifinals. Previously, the Lions had a close call against the 14-time champion Brazil in the quarterfinals (5-4) after extra time.
Al Seyni Ndiaye, the captain and goalie for Senegal, the current African champions, is among the team’s mix of seasoned players. Additionally, the club has been led to three straight victories in the Beach Soccer AFCON by players like Raoul Mendy, Mamour Diagne, Babacar Fall, and Mamadou Sylla.
New players who competed in the qualifying and the COSAFA competition have strengthened the team. Three-time African champions will compete in Group B with Egypt, Uganda, and Madagascar.
