OKBET OFC Football – Samoa will host the inaugural FIFA Beach Soccer coaching course
Beach soccer in Samoa has advanced to a new level as a result of the country’s recent hosting of the first-ever FIFA Beach Soccer Coaching Course. This event took place earlier this month.
The headquarters of the Federation of Football Samoa (FFS), located in Tauanaimato, Apia, played host to 25 participants throughout the course of its five days.
It was led by FIFA instructor Ramon Raya, who is located in the United States, and the primary focus was on teaching the job of a coach as well as teaching technical skills, goalkeeping, and training for beach soccer.
In addition, there was an emphasis placed on the participation of local coaches in order to ensure the expansion and development of beach soccer.
Raya stated on the FFS website that the addition of beach soccer to Samoa’s development goals will offer players with other opportunities to pursue and will add to the country’s overall soccer landscape.
Jess Ibrom, who serves as the Technical Director of FFS, shared Raya’s concerns.
“To begin, Ramon was an extremely skilled FIFA tutor. It was quite beneficial for the participants to be able to listen to and gain knowledge from somebody who was so educated, as Ibrom explained.
Beach soccer is a relatively new idea for the Samoa Football Federation, which led us to the conclusion that there is room for improvement in the sport in Samoa.
“Tahiti and the Solomon Islands are wonderful examples of what can be accomplished in beach soccer by Member Associations in the Oceania area. Both of these countries are part of the Oceania Football Confederation.”
It is essential that various possibilities to participate in the game be made available to the people of Samoa since they have shown a desire to try out a variety of its iterations.
“There is a great appetite for progress, and we are dedicated to seeing this expand at all levels,” the author writes. “We are committed to seeing this grow at all levels.”
