Eastern Suburbs prevailed against Northern Rovers by a score of 5-2, with a brace scored by Deven Jackson in the 90th minute to complete her hat trick and put the finishing touches on the win. While all was going on, Western Springs easily defeated Capital Football 3-0.
Capital United Pride and Southern United both prevailed in their matches against Auckland United FC and Central Football, respectively, to take home victories.
Birkenhead United AFC and Auckland City FC are the early pacesetters in the Men’s National League, after they recorded their second win in as many games, making them the only teams to have done so. Birkenhead defeated Miramar Rangers AFC by a score of 4-2 with to late goals from Luke Jorgensen and Dane Schnell, while Auckland City defeated Cashmere Technical by a score of 2-0. The previous week’s leaders in the standings were Cashmere Technical.
While Wellington Olympic AFC defeated Melville United AFC by a score of 4-0, Auckland United and Napier City Rovers AFC both maintained their playoff hopes by drawing their games against Wellington Phoenix Reserves and Christchurch United, respectively.
The Men’s National Conference Soccer League of Papua New Guinea has officially begun, and the OFC will begin providing regular updates after the league has advanced through the regional stages.
